People often choose written language to express their thoughts and feelings: diaries, poetry, lyrics for songs. So if anyone can write, what does it mean to be a professional lyric writer? What are the particularities of Greek lyric writing? How important is technique and how is it gained? This 3-hour workshop will try to answer all these questions and introduce the participants to the magical world of song writing. The workshop is geared at people over the age of 15 who write lyrics for songs and would like to develop their interest in the subject, professionally or as amateurs. It is also designed for professionals in the cultural field who want to familiarize themselves with the creative process behind a song. Finally, it is for anyone who loves Greek music and wants to broaden his/her knowledge of the subject. The workshop will offer a historical background of the art of lyric writing, analysis of lyric writing techniques, discussions about the topic, as well as a practical approach to the process of lyric writing. Remember that life is a song. And we are always looking for the next word. Instruction is in Greek.
