Creative writing for teens and young adults

 

STORY CRAFT JUNIOR

Learning how stories work makes teens better readers, communicators and empathizers. Plus, it’s just a lot of fun. In this 8-week creative writing course teens ages 12-16 will learn how to put together plots, build compelling characters and write engaging descriptions as we explore our literary voices across a number of genres. We’ll cover in collaborative and solo projects: short stories, flash fiction, creative non-fiction, live storytelling, and blog and magazine writing. Classes meet once a week for 1.5 hours and are limited to 8 spots.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

MAX SHERIDAN

Max has taught short fiction and storytelling workshops at European University Cyprus, the English School, the American Academy in Nicosia, Elenion Nursery School, and at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation's Book Me Festival. At Write CY, he also teaches Story Craft Junior, a creative writing course for teens, and Creative Blogging, a course on creative web content writing. From 2005-2007, Max wrote features for the Cyprus Mail. His short fiction has appeared in a number of publications in the US, UK and elsewhere. He’s the director of Write CY and co-director of Storyline Creatives, where he helps other people tell their stories. Find Max at maxsheridanlit.com.

WRITE CY is a Nicosia-based creative space dedicated to creative writing and community storytelling. We're passionate about opening up the creative writing experience to the public.
