SUSHI, BUDDHISM AND THE DEATH OF DAVID BOWIE: HOW ONE CYPRIOT SURVIVED THE SHITTIEST YEAR IN HISTORY
You don't get this good at spoken word unless you're really pissed off.
And Argyris Loizou is pissed off.
2016, we'd probably all agree, is a good contender for the King of Shitty Years. It was the year Donald Trump got elected and David Bowie died, and playing on the TV day and night, ever-present as static on a busted TV, Aleppo was burning.
Something in the cosmic balance is definitely way off, something doesn't smell right.
Argyris managed to put it all into words that made the hair on the back of our necks stand on end for a full five minutes. It didn't make us feel any better listening, but I think we all sighed a collective sigh of relief at feeling so bad together. And, to top it all off, this was Argyris' first live spoken word performance.
In about a week, 2016 will have come to the end of its run. Give it a kick in the ass on its way out the door, but listen to this first.
