Kids & Teens

Young writers learn English through storytelling

We're passionate about getting kids and teens involved in creative writing. We do that in a number of ways, from our storytelling workshops at Eleneion Preschool to creative writing workshops at local festivals, schools and universities, like European University Cyprus, the American Academy, the English School and King Richard School in Larnaca.

If you're a school, university, institution, creative space or parent with a group of kids or teens of five or more who want to explore creative writing in English or Greek, get in touch. We organize weekday and weekend group workshops in creative writing and storytelling that give kids the structure and supportive environment they need to harness their creativity.

Write CY storytellers Elenitsa Georgiou, Stavrinos Kyriakou, Chris Demetriou and Max Sheridan perform stories and teach storytelling at Nicosia Book Fest 2017.

Creating Writing Workshops for Kids & Teens at Write CY.jpg

Writing stories helps kids and teens make the meaningful connections with language that normal English classes can’t. Kids also prepare themselves to be better readers and writers later in life. Our creative writing workshops for kids and teens are offered throughout the year in English and Greek, and can be organized for schools, institutions or private groups.

Learning how stories work makes teens better readers, writers, communicators and empathizers. Plus, it’s just a lot of fun. In this 6-week creative writing workshop teens ages 12-16 will learn how to put together plots, build compelling characters and write engaging descriptions as we explore our literary voices in a number of different styles.

Kids Tell Stories 1000X667.jpg

Kids Tell Stories was a collaboration between Write CY and Eleneion Preschool. Once a month we dedicated a morning to storytelling, including visits from guest storytellers from the community. Our interactive storytelling sessions were led in Greek and English. This is a virtual scrapbook of our adventures.
